Premium Marijuana Vapes

Vapes provide a unique way to enjoy medical or recreational marijuana. Unlike smoking, vaping requires no fire or spark to ignite the cannabis. Instead, convection or conduction heating vaporizes the cannabis without producing smoke and requiring a lower operating temperature. This type of heating also regulates the temperature at which the cannabis is heated, making sure it doesn’t burn or produce smoke.

Although it’s not new–vaping products were first patented in 1927–cannabis vaping has grown in popularity for a number of reasons. For many people, vaping delivers a smoother and more pleasant flavor absent the smoke with effects that develop gradually and more comfortably, as opposed to the sometimes jolting hit produced by smoking. Vaping is more discreet and convenient than other methods of cannabis consumption while still delivering the full cannabinoid and terpene profile experience.

At Freedom Road, we believe you deserve quality cannabis products at a reasonable price, and you deserve to know where your cannabis comes from. The more you know about your vape product, the more confident you can be in using it. This is why the majority of Freedom Road’s cannabis is grown in-house in state-of-the-art grow facilities, ensuring exceptional safety and uncompromising quality from seed to the final product. We complement our in-house medical and recreational vape products with carefully curated, top-rated brand-name selections from partners who share our standards, and everything is tested to make sure the consistency and potency you purchase is exactly what you get.

How Marijuana Vapes Work

Cannabis vaporizers, or vapes, use convection or conduction heat processes to heat cannabis flower or concentrates. Most vaporizers, including vape pens, use conduction heat because it heats the cannabis material more quickly, although convection-heated vaporizers provide more even heating.

Regardless of the type, vapes consist of the same basic components:

  • Heating chamber or cartridge
  • Power supply
  • Mouthpiece
  • Temperature control
  • Cleaning supplies

In conduction-heated vape pens, a battery is screwed into a cartridge of cannabis oil so it can power and heat the atomizer inside the cartridge, turning the oil into a vapor you can then inhale.

Types of Marijuana Vape Devices

Freedom Road offers a variety of cannabis vape products to suit a wide range of needs. The best vape for you will depend on your budget, level and desired type of experience, and goals. Vapes are available as small, discrete pens; portable vaporizers; and large table-top models.

Vape pens

Vape pens are available in both disposable and reusable options.

Disposable vapes are ready-to-use devices that come with a pre-filled cartridge and are powered by a built-in coil and battery. They are inexpensive and come in a wide range of flavors, and their popularity makes them easy to find. Although they lack the customization of a reusable vape pen, disposable vapes are perfect for vaping on the go as well as the occasional vaper who doesn’t want to invest in more expensive equipment.

Refillable or reusable vaporizers feature cartridges that can be refilled and can last a long time with proper care. Reusable vape pens can be customized and personalized and tend to produce more flavor and vapor than disposable pens.

Tabletop/Desktop Vapes

Tabletop vapes are much larger than other vape models. They require electricity and/or batteries and must remain stationary–they can’t travel with you. The majority of tabletop vapes use convection heat to generate a large amount of vapor from a small amount of product.

Although they lack the option of portability, the increased power available from the electrical connection makes tabletop vapes ideal for cannabis users looking for a more potent and robust experience

You’ll find everything from elegant vape pens and small portable vaporizers to the best in tabletop vape models at Freedom Road. Our expert staff can help guide you through our extensive selection so you can choose the one that’s right for you.

Choosing the Right Form of Cannabis to Vape

While cannabis oil is the most commonly used form for vaping, you can also vape cannabis flower and concentrate.

Popular oils for vape cartridges include:

  • Distillate, a concentrated, translucent oil that contains only a specific cannabinoid. Distillate is tasteless, odorless, and 99% pure THC concentrate.
  • Live resin oil, an oil rich in terpenes for enhanced aroma and flavor.
  • CO2 oil, a cannabis oil extracted using CO2. The natural compounds in CO2 oil deliver a smooth, potent experience.
  • Full-spectrum oil, which maintains all of the natural molecules and benefits of a particular strain

Cannabis vape pens can be used to vape THC oil, hemp oil, and CBD oil.

Popular concentrates for vape cartridges include:

  • Shatter, a form of butane hash oil (BHO). This hard, glass-like concentrate is one of the purest forms of concentrate.
  • Wax, a thick, opaque and malleable concentrate that is typically smoked or “dabbed” using a water pipe or vaporizer.
  • Live resin is created from fresh, flash-frozen plant material and contains a high terpene content.
  • Live rosin, a potent and flavorful solventless concentrate that is also extracted from flash-frozen plants but tends to be a more affordable alternative to live resin.

Vaping flower allows you to enjoy a specific strain’s flavor profile and unique characteristics without the smoke or aroma produced by smoking. At Freedom Road, we’ve developed proprietary strains perfect for delivering the clearest path to your desired outcomes, including:

  • Energize (Sativa), for a little extra boost to help fuel your day
  • Focus (Sativa Hybrid), to keep both your mind and your body motivated
  • Relief (Hybrid), to lessen the impact of your aches and pains
  • Relax (Indica Hybrid), our lightest-potency flower to help you end those long days on a relaxing note
  • Sleep (Indica), for restful nights and better mornings

Taking Care of Your Cannabis Vapes

To get the most out of your cannabis vape device and product, be sure to follow some basic care and maintenance tips.

How to maintain and clean vapes

All vapes are different, but in general, most models benefit from a cleaning right after use and a good exterior wipe-down from time to time because residue buildup can lead to uneven vaporization and reduced overall function. You can also remove the pod (or tank) and soak it to remove buildup. If you can’t seem to get the flavor out, try soaking it in a high proof vodka, which acts as a solvent.

Make sure you pay attention to the battery—not only how full it is, but whether it looks correct. Leaving your vape in the sun, for example, can cause battery issues; never use a battery that appears bent or discolored. To extend the life of your vape battery, keep the charge at around 50%.

Vape pens and cartridges should be stored upright and away from heat and light.

How to troubleshoot common problems

Problems with your vape device can arise from time to time, but almost all of them can be resolved by checking three things:

  1.     Is the power on?
  2.     Is the vape charged?
  3.     Are there issues with connection, e.g., from the battery to the tank?

If connection is the problem, you can use a Q-tip to gently clean the area.

Freedom Road offers vape starter kits and cleaning accessories to help you get started on the right track, and our friendly, experienced staff is always ready with answers to your questions and tips of the trade for simple, seamless vape use. If you have tried these troubleshooting tips and are still having problems with your vape, or just aren’t sure what to do first, call or stop in and we’d be happy to help!

Risks and Benefits of Vaping Cannabis

While vaping cannabis reduces many of the unpleasant and potentially harmful effects of smoking while increasing efficacy, there are still associated risks, most of which are connected with the thinning agents required to make cannabis oil more suitable for consumption.

You can reduce your risk of potential side effects by:

  • Choosing high quality vaping products from recognized brands and reputable sources and that feature safely extracted, naturally-derived terpenes.
  • Avoiding cannabis vape products with ingredients and thinning agents like propylene glycol (PG) or polyethylene glycol, which become carcinogenic when heated; vegetable glycerine (VG); MCT coconut oil (MCT); and vitamin E acetate
  • Properly maintaining your vaping device
  • Follow expert recommendations for temperature settings and dosages.

Vaping is not recommended for individuals with asthma or other respiratory conditions.

However, with proper precautions and quality products, vaping can be beneficial for:

  • Controlling dosages and better dosing accuracy, especially for medical marijuana patients who only need to reach a desired level of symptom relief
  • Variety, allowing users to consume any flower strain on our dispensary menu and sample a range of products and effects
  • Discretion and convenience, so you can enjoy your recreational or medical marijuana when you want or need to without disturbing others
  • Higher cannabinoid concentration and retention, so you need less for your desired effects

All of the cannabis and cannabis vaping products carried at Freedom Road are derived from organically grown, non-GMO plants raised without pesticides or other harmful chemicals and extracted using safe, industry-approved techniques and methods. We follow stringent third-party testing to ensure the potency, purity, and safety of our products and complement our in-house inventory only from trusted brands and partners.

FAQs

How do I store cannabis vapes?

Store vape cartridges in an upright position at room temperature and out of light. Avoid placing the vape itself in a place where it could be knocked over and keep it out of reach of children or pets.

Because they look like regular food and beverages, edibles should be stored safely away from kids, pets, and guests who may mistake them for snacks.
